Department of Orthodontics (Shangqingsi Branch)

The Department of Orthodontics of CQMU-SH (Shangqingsi branch) was established in 1991, which is one of the earliest departments of orthodontics in China. It is a designated National Clinical Key Specialty, Chongqing key medical discipline as well as key discipline of Chongqing Education Commission. 

The department has currently 41 faculty members, 5 of who hold post-doctoral degrees, 13 hold PhD degrees and 3 hold masters’ degrees. There are also 3 professors and 8 associate professors, over 20 members of the World Orthodontic Federation (WFO), and 21 members of the Orthodontics Professional Committee of the Chinese Stomatological Association in this team. We have an outstanding reservoir of talents, among which 100% of the doctors have received orthodontics specialty training and 35% have overseas study experience.

Over the past few decades, the department has developed rapidly in clinical service, scientific research and teaching, and become the first-class orthodontics center and Standardized Training Base for Dentistry Residents.

The department have published more than 30 international peer-review papers (SCI, EI), funded by more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects, 20 department-level projects, and participated in the compilation and translation of over 10 theoretical books or works. The department have trained more than 100 master and doctorate graduates.

12. Intractable cases
