Department of Prosthodontics (Ranjiaba Branch)

Since its establishment in 1955, the Department of Prosthodontics has been devoting to offering high-quality medical treatments for patients, providing systematic prosthodontic teachings, and carrying out cutting-edge scientific researches. The department has been designated as the Key Clinical Specialty in Chongqing and its doctorate program was approved by the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council.

At present, the department has a high-qualified medical team consisted of 34 faculty members, including 21 doctors, 90% of who possess doctoral and masters’ degree and more than half of who have overseas study background. The expert group is composed of 3 chief physicians and 4 associated chief physicians. We also have 2 doctoral supervisors and 3 master supervisors. The department plays an active role in the national and provincial professional academic societies, such as Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA), and Chongqing Stomatological Association. Such a high-qualified faculty team not only assumes the educational responsibility for undergraduates and graduates, but also provides standardized resident training and advanced post-graduate education.

In recent years, the department has published many articles, including 20 SCI articles and over 30 CSCD papers, and undertook 5 national scientific research projects, 8 provincial projects and 10 municipal projects. The department performs excellently in the field of anterior teeth individual aesthetic restoration, digital all-ceramic restoration treatment, tooth whitening, preservative prosthesis, occlusal rehabilitation, prosthodontic treatment of temporomandibular joint disease, the complete dentures, removable partial dentures and restoration-oriented implant dentistry.
