Department of Periodontics (Shangqingsi Branch)

The Department of Periodontics is a combined center for teaching, clinical service and research related to periodontal diseases. As a leading department of periodontology in Southwest of China, our team is composed of 20 faculty members, including 1 chief physician and 11 attending physicians, and all of them have master’s degree or above. 

A total of 16 dental chairs are installed in the department, with about 50,000 annual visits from the Southwest of China and across the country. We have become an influential and characteristic stomatological specialty in the southwest of China and also a large-scaled clinical medicine center in China. Our department is committed to preserve natural teeth for patients, improve their quality of life, and provide high-quality, standardized, and systematic treatment of periodontal disease with advanced instruments and equipment, like Swiss Ultrasonic Therapeutic Apparatus, Denmark Genius water-cooled laser therapy instrument, Florida Probe (USA), and oral microscope, etc.

The department is dedicated to systematical therapies of periodontal diseases and periodontally-oriented multidisciplinary treatment with orthodontics, implantology, prosthodontic, endodontics. Our main special therapies include periodontal basic treatment (scaling, root planning and polishing), periodontal access surgery, periodontal regenerative surgery, periodontal plastic surgery (mucogingival surgery and crown lengthening surgery), etc.

The department has been providing clinical teaching and scientific research for undergraduates, graduates and residents, and has won various kinds of prizes in teaching. We also maintain close relationships and regular academic exchanges with well-known experts and institutes in periodontics domestically and globally. We have hosted several national and municipal periodontal clinical continuing education projects and obtained several national and provincial scientific research funds.

3. Periodontal basic treatment(scaling and root planing, subgingival sandblasting, splinting, etc.)

4. Periodontal debridement surgery

5. Periodontal regenerative surgery

6. Periodontal plastic surgery(mucogingival surgery and crown lengthening surgery, etc.)

7. Implant treatment in periodontitis patients

8. Peri-implantitis
