Department of Pediatric Dentistry(Ranjiaba Branch)

The Department of Pediatric Dentristy of CQMU-SH ('the deparment' for short) was established in 2013, which was developed from the Department of Oral Prevention of Children's Dental Diseases established in 2011. The department is a comprehensive department that integrates medical services, teaching and prevention. It is currently the Chongqing Children's Oral Disease Treatment Center, Chongqing Oral Clinical Medical Quality Control Center, and the National Resident Standardized Training Base. The department currently has 3 chief physicians, 17 attending physicians, and 18 nurses. Among them, there are 3 senior professional doctors, 1 doctoral supervisor, and 2 master’s supervisors.

The department has 3 clinics, 32 dental chairs, with more than 80,000 visits per year. The department possess characteristic medical treatment techniques such as early malocclusion correction, sevoflurane and laryngeal mask inhalation, and general anesthesia for children's oral diseases which has been carried out for ten years with the annual visits exceeding 600, ranking firstly in China. In recent years, our department has actively carried out new technologies and new projects, including early orthodontic treatment with Invisalign, anterior dental trauma glass fiber fixation technology, necrotic and permanent teeth revascularization, ultrasonic high-strength resin filling, iodine painless decompression technology, etc., which have achieved good social benefits.

We have presided 1 National Natural Science Foundation project and 11 provincial scientific research projects, won 1 Chongqing Science and Technology Progress Award, and published more than 50 academic papers. In recent years, the department has sent more than 10 staff members to abroad for academic exchanges, including the United States, South Korea, Singapore and other countries, and also attracted a large number of dentists inside and outside the province for further study.

In addition, we hold annual continuing education class, and comfortable oral medical forum jointly with the anesthesiology department, continuously radiating the special medical treatment technology to the surrounding areas. We have implemented comprehensive intervention programs for children's oral diseases, commonweal activities of oral healthcare for orphaned and disabled children and autism, I am a little dentist (a activity organized by Chongqing Stomatological Association), etc., which have won high social praise.

2. Children’s pulp diseases: such as pulpitis, periapical disease, minimally invasive aesthetic repair of anterior teeth and repair of posterior tooth defects, etc.

4. Children’s oral surgery: such as deciduous teeth extraction, fenestration of impacted teeth, etc.

5. Children’s space management of developing dentition.

6. Correction of malocclusion in children and adolescents.
