The CQMU-SH Celebrating the 33rd Chinese Teeth Care Day

20 September, 2021 is the 33rd Chinese Teeth Care Day with the theme of Oral Health, General Health. From 14 September, Stomatological Hospital of Chongqing Medical University(CQMU-SH) had launched a series of online and offline activities to celebrate the big day.

Free clinics was held for 2 hours. Five experts retired from our hospital were invited, who specialized in teeth repair, prevention and treatment of caries, periodontal therapy, etc., with over 30 years of working experiences. More than 70 patients participated into the activity, and most of them were excited and grateful to this opportunity.


On 18 September, five dentists of our hospital attended the online activity to popularize scientific knowledge through network. Professor Huang Lan emphasized that the significance of early orthodontic is to discover problems and the key is regular checkups. Professor Xiang xuerong pointed out that gingival bleeding is the early symptom of periodontal disease, which may progress into serious diseases like coronary heart disease and rheumatoid arthritis. Professor Wang jinhua reminded parents of the timely prevention and correction of children¡¯s bad oral habits like mouth breathing and nigh molar, because they are important factors of child malocclusion. Professor Zheng Leilei emphasized the importance of brushing teeth, because it is more easily to pile up residual food during orthodontic. Researcher Chen Yao expressed that the success of dental implants depends on the gum, techniques of dentists, maintenance habits, etc. Generally speaking, 90%-95% of dental implants can survive for ten years.


The experiential activity of teeth cleaning had attracted great attention. As one of the experiencers, Miss Zhong underwent the teeth cleaning for about one hour, feeling so excited and said: ¡°I feel my teeth are completely clean right now, and I am gonna do the cleaning regularly.¡± Dentists emphasized that regular cleaning can not only alleviate halitosis, reduce bleeding and prevent caries, but also can discover oral problems as early as possible.


What¡¯s more, medical staff of three departments went to primary schools to give lecture on oral health and hold free clinics for students there. Through these activities, kids are more aware of the importance of having good oral habits like teeth-brushing and keeping a healthy diet, and further allay their fears of dentists.
